[Today marked a big day for Teddy Altman: He's eighteen today. If he were back in New York, he could vote in elections, own a credit/debit card of his own, and not have to groan over papers and applications that had a little note for people who were under eighteen. He's pretty much an adult now.
He still kind of feels like a young teenager who has no idea what he's doing, though, so he can't help being a little disappointed when he wakes up and doesn't suddenly feel like a man with a plan who knows everything and can do anything.
After gently being coaxed outside by Billy, Teddy decides to do all the things he usually does, seeing how Luceti is sorely lacking in ways to celebrate a milestone year like this. He wanders and chats up store owners, from the bakery to the weapon shop to Seventh Heaven to even the general store. He gets himself a large meal for lunch, as is customary for a guy like him, and orders his favorite just for today. He visits the library and reads up on whatever new comics they have, and that's where he gets lost in thought enough to open his journal and ask a question that's been on his mind since the day began.]
When someone turns eighteen, do they do anything special? It's a pretty big thing for teenagers in America; you can vote and get drafted and pretty much be considered an adult by the law. But does it mean anything in other worlds? Call me curious.
[He goes to the Battledome after that to simulate a basketball game – just to watch this time, not to participate. The 1992 East Regional Final, Duke verses Kentucky, one of the most suspenseful games in history and something that Teddy had watched on YouTube, but certainly not like this. It's no wonder that he's particularly hyped when he walks out. So much so that he takes to the sky as soon as he's outside, deciding that he'd rather take the joyride home rather than plain old walking. He's still a teenager, and he still feels pretty invincible even without that adult knowledge he was expecting, so why not?
Teddy might not feel any different, but it's still a pretty special day.]

I guess in England it's pretty customary to go out and buy your first legal drinks. That's what I did anyway. And have my first legal hangover the next day.
[Voice]
Oh man, seriously? We can't have legal drinks in America until we're twenty-one. Doesn't stop people from drinking illegally, but come on, is anyone surprised by that anymore?
[Not that he cares; it's because of said illegal drinking that he found out he couldn't reap the benefits of it, like that supposedly pleasant tipsy feeling. It just tasted bad in the end, and the friends who provided the drinks were so smashed that it was embarrassing, and not just because of the morality of it all. Hence why he tends to stay away from it if possible.]

It's a pretty entertaining day, all things said. Good food.

Man I have no idea if you're cool with it but I have literally no threads with her so I am replying
You know, if you talk to her.
Heart currently isn't in any mode, so she's in relatively neutral clothing and really she's once more replying her memories that she has from the time in the other life, odd, now that she's removed from the emotions of it all. And while she might not be a store owner or anything, she is just standing in the middle of the general store, not really touching anything and frankly, not really looking around. Just... standing there, possibly in the way and definitely spacing out]
hahaha oh gosh I'm totally cool with it
At first, Teddy figures she's just in deep thought, and he might as well not snap her out of it. But when fifteen minutes pass and Teddy's thinking about leaving, he looks over again and sees that she's... still in the same position.
Huh.
A bit concerned now, Teddy steps up to her, then slowly raises a hand to wave it in front of her eyes.]
Hey... you okay?

And I just turned eighteen myself last month in Luceti and I kinda just celebrated it with close friends.

Also, I hope you're having cake today. It's not your birthday without cake!

I think the obvious answer is to pick up some hard liquor and cigars and just go to town for the night. Strippers or prostitutes jumping out of birthday cakes are optional.
[voice]
If that's why you pushed me out of the place, then I really hope you picked out some cute strippers. And made a cake big enough for him. And breathable.
Okay, strippers coming out of a cake is a terrible idea.

When one turns eighteen there is a sufficient amount of hair present on the body as well.

In my world, you're officially an adult when you turn eighteen. At least as far as rights and responsibilities and stuff.

Yeah, that's about what it's like for us, too. We can do some things that only adults could do, or had to supervise us doing.
... Still doesn't feel any different, though.

Well. He can't deny the last part of her explanation, at least.]

But.She wouldn't mind being friends, or something like friends.
Using his journal entry as a hint that hey! It's probably his birthday! She ventures out of her apartment, and around the village. She's flower picking. Of course, she avoids places that look like someone's garden, it's not her goal to destroy anyone's personal property, but there are enough little wild flowers that she can find three or so to suit her needs. They're mostly little daisy looking things.
Bringing the flowers back to her apartment and putting them in a simple, nondescript vase she picked up at a shop, she begins hexing them. Making the blossoms larger and more sturdy. Having achieved this, she then performs one of her favourite hexes: changing colours.
Focusing, and running her fingers over the flowers, she changes the colour of the blossoms to a nice, vibrant green; just like the green or his skin he showed her when he revealed he was a shape shifter. The centers of the flowers she makes yellow, like his hair. Thinking the stems blend in too much, those are then turned purple.
She takes this flower arrangement up to where she now knows he lives with Billy, and leaves it by the door. No note, no knocking. Just a gift, which, hopefully, he'll find and enjoy on his special day.
]
[Action]
He's never seen flowers like this before. Green and yellow, just like his colors - he could buy that being natural. But purple stems? A color that he rather likes, at that? No, that has to be the work of someone else. Billy doesn't really get him flowers, so who...
Ah. Teddy thinks he knows. Or even if he doesn't, what he does next could be for something else entirely.
He does, at least, first take the flowers inside to place on the coffee table, because they really do look nice; very cool, very unusual, very him. Even Billy could appreciate that, he thinks. But then he writes a quick note and heads down to where Wanda lives; he's not entirely sure if it's her who did it, and even if it is, he's not sure what he did to deserve an arrangement like that.
Whatever the case, he still leaves the pale green sticky-note on her door before he makes his way back to his apartment. No knocking, just something for her to find later.
"Thanks. :)

it's Kurt's faultso she decided to get him a little something. That was the easy part. Actually finding a way to give it was difficult. She didn't know how to approach him after the whole mess of that invasion. And really, how would one thank someone who effectively died for you?
She's pondering all this while tending to her garden in the backyard of House 16. It's seen better days - it was neglected for a week and a half so it's been a project of hers nursing her babies back to health.
She's not so engrossed, however, that she does not notice someone flying through the clouds up above her. For a village of super-powered residents, fliers were still rather rare. She glances up and spies someone green and winged against the blue sky.
It takes her about a half a minute to make a decision, and then only a second for her to take off into the clouds after him. ]
Teddy!
action
There aren't that many fliers in general, and he definitely knows that voice. He was already in a good mood, yet he instantly feels even better when he turns his head to acknowledge her.]
Ororo, hey! I didn't expect anyone else to come up here!
