[Although Teddy didn't go on the draft, he knew plenty of friends who did. Once he was certain they were all accounted for, though some had gone through some heavy losses, he felt like he could relax a little. And with relaxation, it dawned on him that he hadn't really practiced his shifting ability in a while. Sure, there was his Hulkling form, but he knew that one. Knew it inside and out. What about others?
This is why he sits by the edge of the fountain, homework and pencil in hand, though he doesn't work so much as watch people over the top of the page. He's inconspicuous about it, as this is a hobby he's developed for some time now.
And when he's sure he's not in anyone's range of vision, he transforms, shifting into the form of the person he's got his eyes on. That's when he stops watching them and looks down at the body he's impersonating, just to study the shape, occasionally glancing up to make sure he has everything right. Even when the person's left, he still stays in that form for a few long moments before he shifts back, writing his answers in his homework once he's satisfied with the shape he's in.
Observe, learn, shift, hold. This is what he's learned over the years, though it's been a while since he's done this for selfless reasons. Just for practice, nothing more.]

Anyone up for playing b-ball sometime? It's been way too long since I actually got to play against someone. Holograms just don't really cut it, you know?
[He would suggest football, but, well. When you've got the ability to possibly break someone in half with a good tackle, that probably isn't the best sport to go for.]

Sorry about that. I don't really know your language; I just found it really cool... Do you mind if I do that? Or should I just talk like a regular human?

So his gaze darts to the top of the traveler's head, then down to its toes, taking in every feature. This will be difficult; it's a shape he's never seen before, and he's not even sure what's underneath the cloak. But he thinks he's got it.
He pulls his hand away, then looks down at himself as his body begins to shrink, his flesh changes color, and a red cloak with a gold trim spills over his shoulders and slides up to cover his head like a hood. It takes a moment longer than his previous transformations, simply because it's a new form and he wants to get it right, but soon enough, there seems to be a replica of the traveler standing in front of him where Teddy once sat, twirling slightly to get a look at his body.
Once he's satisfied, he looks at the traveler again and almost asks if it's okay, only to realize that no, he shouldn't speak like this. Instead, he shifts his throat beneath his scarf again to say something properly.]

[Oh! Oh, this is a good reaction. That's good. He was afraid he'd offend it or make it sad, but it seems happy. And it's a nice feeling, making someone feel happy with his power.
He can't make his own cloak light up, but he can improvise. He turns the gold trim into a sort of glassy material, briefly, lest he breaks something, and that wouldn't feel very good. But it catches in the sun, making it shine. It's not quite a glow, but it's close enough.
He rubs his own cheek against the traveler's, figuring that this is a happy reaction as well as a greeting of sorts. Yeah, there's only one person he allows to really get this close to his face like this, but he can probably make an exception for something like this.

He can do that.
He bounces on his feet briefly, turns in a circle to show off his own scarf, then flaps his cloak and rises a few feet into the air.
